What is it? A repository is a source code repository on GitHub. It's where the code you'll build and deploy comes from.
Wakastart distinguishes 2 types of repos:
| Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Managed | Wakastart creates it for you on GitHub (under the Waka-Start org). Handy for getting started quickly. |
| Imported | You provide the URL of a repo that already exists elsewhere (e.g. https://github.com/groupe-jds/biped.git). Wakastart reads it but doesn't own it. |
What is a repo used for in Wakastart?
A repo is not a service on its own. It provides the source code that will then be:
- Read to perform a Build (turn the code into a Docker image)
- Used for its branches/tags (Git reference for an environment)
Several services can come from the same repo (monorepo).
