HDS Module (Health Data Hosting)

This module is reserved for organizations certified or in the process of being certified for HDS (Hébergement de Données de Santé — Health Data Hosting). It lets you supervise access to health data, verify its integrity, and generate the required regulatory reports.

Required access: you must have the HDS Administrator role to access this module. If you don't see this menu, contact your platform administrator.

When do you use this section?

  • You want to monitor activity on health data (logins, vault access, modifications)
  • You need to verify the integrity of data stored in vaults
  • You want to view emergency access (exceptional "break glass" situations)
  • You are preparing a regulatory report (HDS audit, GDPR, NIS2)
  • You need to back up your health data

Overview

From the main menu, click Security then HDS.

The indicators display in real time:

  • Active networks: the number of operational HDS networks
  • Data vaults: the number of vaults (secure storage spaces dedicated to each data type)
  • Stored documents: the total number of documents present in the vaults
  • Storage volume: the amount of data used
  • Active users (24h): the number of people who accessed the system today

Vaults are split into four categories: Patient, Structural, Research, and Temporary.

Viewing transactions

The Transactions section lists all events tracked on health data, classified by category: authentication, vault access, document handling, permission changes, consents, emergency access, administrative actions, and system events.

Use the filters to target a specific period, user, or event type.

Verifying data integrity

  1. Go to HDS then Integrity.
  2. Select the network to audit from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click Verify integrity.
  4. The result is displayed with a Valid (green) or Invalid (red) badge.

An invalid result indicates an anomaly to investigate immediately. Contact your technical team or the Wakastellar team.

Security — Access and incidents

The Security section displays three counters:

  • Emergency access: number of uses of "break glass" mode (exceptional access to normally restricted data)
  • Authentication failures: failed login attempts
  • Denied access: attempts to access unauthorized resources

Managing HDS permissions

The Permissions section gives you an overview of the rights granted to each user across the various HDS networks. You can quickly identify who has access to what and adjust as needed.

Generating regulatory reports

  1. Go to HDS then Compliance.
  2. Choose the report type: HDS Audit, GDPR, or NIS2.
  3. Click Generate.

Generation may take a few moments. The status goes from Pending to Generating then Ready once the report is downloadable.

HDS backups

The Backups section lets you trigger or view backups of health data. A single backup mechanism is available: a database dump followed by secure storage on S3.
