Platform Administration (WakaAdmin)

Advanced platform administration: domains, gateways, container registry, secrets vault, repositories, SMTP, and monitoring.

Platform Administration (WakaAdmin)

This section is reserved for Wakastellar administrators. It gives access to the technical components that power the platform's infrastructure.

Required access: WakaAdmin only.

When do you use this section?

  • You need to manage the domain names used to host applications
  • You want to configure network entry points (traffic routing)
  • You need to manage the image registry for your applications
  • You want to configure the email sending servers
  • You need to monitor the availability of hosted services

Domains

Manage the root domain names used to host applications on the platform. The supported DNS providers are OVH and Cloudflare. From this section, you can create, edit, or delete domains and verify their configuration.

Network Gateways

Gateways are the entry points for web traffic to hosted applications. Manage the list of gateways and their routing configuration here.

Harbor Image Registry

Harbor is the registry that stores and distributes your applications' images (comparable to a warehouse of ready-to-deploy packages). Five subsections are available:

  • Instances: the Harbor servers attached to the platform
  • Projects: storage spaces organized by application or group
  • Proxy caches: local caching of images from external sources (Docker Hub, GitHub, Google, Quay...) to speed up deployments
  • Robots: service accounts used by automated deployment tools. Their credentials are kept in the secrets vault (see below).
  • Registry storage (System menu): the space each application uses in the registry, and its quota. The page itself is displayed in French, under the title Stockage du registre (registry storage).
    • The list shows all applications, sorted from largest to smallest (those never measured come last). For each one: the storage used and when it was measured, the quota (on or off, amount, percentage used), and the state of the automatic purge. At the top: the total used and the sum of active quotas.
    • The quota is a Wakastart rule, set application by application: when it's reached, Wakastart refuses to start a new build of the application. Nothing is limited in Harbor itself. A build that has already started runs to the end.
    • By default, no application has a quota. The amount is prefilled with 40 GB, but nothing is applied until an administrator turns the quota on and saves.
    • If the chosen amount is below the current usage, a confirmation checkbox is required: the application's next builds will be refused.
    • The space of a deleted image is only freed by the registry's weekly cleanup, on Sunday at 00:00 UTC. An application over its quota therefore can't build until that cleanup, unless its quota is raised.
    • The automatic purge is shown read-only: each application sets it itself, from its builds screen.

Secrets Vault (OpenBao)

OpenBao is the platform's digital vault — it securely stores the credentials, keys, and certificates needed for services to function. Three types of vaults are managed:

  • Key-value (KV): for simple secrets (passwords, tokens)
  • Transit (encryption): for encrypting and decrypting data on the fly
  • PKI (certificates): for managing digital certificates

This is an infrastructure component: any change must be made with the assistance of the Wakastellar team or an experienced technical administrator.

Code Repositories

Manage the source code repositories attached to the platform for applications deployed via WakaStart.

SMTP Providers

Configure the email sending servers used for notifications, invitations, and automatic platform communications. A Test button lets you verify that an SMTP server responds correctly before putting it into production.

Platform Variables

Define global configuration variables accessible to all platform components. These variables let you centralize shared settings without having to enter them manually in each service.

Monitoring

Configure availability monitors for your applications and services: WakaStart regularly sends a check request ("ping") to the monitored address and alerts you if it stops responding.

Observability

Access the platform's advanced supervision tools: performance metrics, execution traces, and consolidated system logs. This view is intended for technical administrators to diagnose and resolve infrastructure incidents.
