Networks

A Network groups customers under a single logical organization. It is attached to an Application and forms the second level of the WakaStart hierarchy: Partner → Application → Network → Customer.

When do you use this section?

  • You want to create a new network to group customers
  • You want to configure the settings of an existing network (language, theme, subdomain)
  • You need to view the customers attached to a network

Accessing the network list

From the main menu on the left, click Organization then Networks.

The list displays, for each network: its name, the owning application, its status, and its short subdomain. You can configure, edit, or delete a network from the action buttons on the right.

If no application is selected in the global filter, you cannot create a new network. First select an application in the filter bar at the top.

Creating a network

  1. Click + New network at the top right.
  2. Fill in the requested information:
    • Name: the network's name as it will appear in the interface (required)
    • Description: short presentation (optional)
    • Status: Active, Inactive, or Suspended
    • Short subdomain: a shortened address for this network (15 characters max, lowercase, hyphens and dots allowed — optional)
    • Default language: the language displayed for this network, or inherited from the parent application
    • Default theme: the network's visual appearance
  3. Click Create.

Configuring an existing network

Click the gear icon next to the network to access its detailed configuration. There you can manage attached customers, enabled features, and advanced options.

Deleting a network

Click the trash icon, then confirm. First make sure all customers in the network are either migrated or deleted.

URL redirects

A URL redirect lets you point a custom subdomain to a specific page of your application — handy for giving a memorable address to a network, without exposing the app's actual technical URL.

When do you use this feature?

  • You want to offer a dedicated address for your network, redirecting to a specific page of the application (landing page, login portal, etc.)
  • You need to change the target environment or page without breaking the address already communicated to your customers
  • You want to check the status of an existing redirect

Creating a redirect

  1. From the network's detailed configuration, open the URL Redirects tab.
  2. Click + New redirect.
  3. Fill in the Source block:
    • Domain: a custom domain of the application, or the platform's shared domain
    • Subdomain: the prefix that will appear in the address (a single word, no dot)
  4. Fill in the Destination block:
    • Route: the application route to target
    • Environment: the environment in which the route is deployed
    • Path and query parameters: optional, added to the destination address
  5. Click Create. The redirect moves to Pending status, then Active once provisioned.

The domain and subdomain of the Source block can no longer be changed once the redirect is created. If you make a mistake, delete the redirect and create a new one.

Editing the destination

You can change the targeted route, environment, path, or query parameters at any time, without recreating the redirect or affecting the source address already communicated to your customers.

Changing the target environment automatically changes the displayed source address (the environment prefix is part of it) — remember to re-communicate the new address if necessary.

Tracking a redirect's status

Displayed statusMeaning
PendingThe redirect has just been created, awaiting processing
Being createdTechnical resources are being provisioned
ActiveThe redirect is working: the source address correctly redirects to the destination
FailedProvisioning failed — contact your technical team
Being deletedThe redirect is being deleted
DeletedThe redirect no longer exists

Deleting a redirect

Click the trash icon next to the redirect, then confirm. Deletion never affects the route or environment targeted by the destination.
